To Be Hated and Thus Corrected is a call to embrace our anger at injustice and to channel it towards positive action

None of us can or should ignore the genocide being carried out by Israel against the people of Gaza. Palestinians need help urgently. If you have the money, please support any boots on the ground organisations that you can and call upon elected officials to take a stand against the Israeli regime. The situation in Gaza is well beyond desperate. In the past we fundraised for MAP and MECA, there are many more.

Our concern as musicians is how we can positively impact discourse and connect with people through our collective humanity. Everything we release has to be at its core a call to end all forms of domination and oppression from a place of love, as bell hooks put it. That is our main contribution to the discourse and this latest single is no exception.

Melding a handful of evocative words spoken by celebrated poet Gwendolyn Brooks and luminary author Richard Bach with warm and tender beats, To Be Hated and Thus Corrected challenges our tendency to pretend that everything is fine. Above all, it is an appeal to be open to anger in the face of injustice and to channel that anger towards creatively challenging the edifices of injustice, rather than directing it back at each other in toxic & polarised social media debates.
