Fold – Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule

How do we really resist? Not just react or vent—but push back in a way that actually changes something?

That’s the question we kept coming back to while making Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule. We didn’t set out to make a traditional protest song. What we ended up with feels more like a groove with intent—something built to hold a line, to stand firm.

This track is the result of a collaboration with political messaging strategist Anat Shenker-Osorio. Her voice carries a lot of the message—not just through what she says, but how she says it. The same techniques that have been used to spread fear and division can also be used to push back. That’s something we wanted to explore head-on.

There’s science behind the way messages work. Repetition creates belief. We’ve all heard it—say “threat to national security” enough times and people start to accept it as fact. With this track, we tried to flip that dynamic. Instead of reinforcing resignation, we aimed to amplify refusal. Instead of fear, defiance.

To us, civil resistance isn’t an abstract ideal—it’s essential. And music, at its best, can be a part of that. It can remind us we’re not alone. That we can organise. That we can resist.

We hope Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule doesn’t just get heard. We hope it gets felt—repeated, shared, and used. Because, as Anat says, the future isn’t fixed. It’s still up for grabs.
