Take It All Back is a call to reclaim the narratives & stories that shape our world in order to break down toxic power structures
In early 2022 I reached total burnout. I couldn’t carry on and became suicidal. I had to make major changes. I left my web design career and began several interventions to raise myself back up. I’m still coming to terms with my own neurodivergence alongside that of my children, letting go of trauma and projecting a sustainable future where everyone’s needs can be met.
Take It All Back was part of that process. There’s a line about the Holocaust that claimed my father’s side of the family. We look back with distanced horror on the history of genocide and slavery but I believe such things remain just around the corner. The mindset of those who created the mythology of racism that enabled both slavery and the holocaust is the same held by those who rule today: that which values profit above all else. The protections against dehumanisation are being eroded once again.
I feel with all my heart that we must empower ourselves and each other to reclaim the narratives that shape society and reverse the trends of dehumanisation. Such change will only come from the bottom up, not from the top down. We’ve gotta take it all back.

“If you are going to try and persuade people not to fall for the snake oil you could do worse than deliver your thoughts via the medium of a mellow and funky groove with indie and world music elements.”
“It’s an excellent tune.”
