We’ve launched the Fold Patreon page! If you’re unfamiliar with our work, we are a Leeds UK based music collective dedicated to amplifying humanitarian perspectives and reflecting those parts of the world that most of us find difficult to look at. We achieve this buy making and releasing records, playing live shows, creating videos (like the one above, which is for our latest single Forever War) and broadcasting all of the above both online & offline. Whenever possible we go beyond amplification and raise funds for humanitarian crises through shows and releases including migrants & refugees, the bombing of Gaza (multiple times) and even rescuing local music businesses taken out by floods in Leeds (our own community). We also participate in protests and other forms of activism.
We’ve been doing all of this since 2012 and have had an incredibly positive experience along the way. The pandemic scuppered a lot of plans. In late 2019 we were still buzzing from the release of our celebrated second album We’re the Ones. We’d finally managed to get back on stage after an 18 month hiatus due to the ill health of our bassist, opening for Ibibio Sound Machine at the O2 Academy Sheffield. We were just about to release a run of singles that we were incredibly happy with. Then the lockdowns came. After many trials and tribulations over three and a half years we finally got ourselves back on stage at the end of 2023. Two of our core members had had to step away but as of today we are once again a fully functional unit.
In the time that we’ve been active, in part but not exclusively because of the pandemic, making enough income to keep this project alive has become harder and harder. But we do not give up. Instead, we are looking for other ways to enable those who believe in our work to support us, hence the launch of this page.
If you can spare $5 (£4) a month — the price of a cup of coffee — you’ll not only be helping us to keep doing what we do but you will also get access to exclusive content including unreleased tracks, sneak peaks of new tracks, behind the scenes materials and more. If all goes well we will be offering a podcast for members too. So please support us if you can.
